Germany's public universities charge little or no tuition fees for international students in most states, making it one of the most affordable places to earn a world-class degree.

Step 1: APS certificate

All Indian applicants need an APS certificate. MS applicants with a recognised bachelor's degree can apply directly, while Class 12 students usually complete Studienkolleg (a one-year foundation course) first.

Step 2: Apply

Apply directly or via uni-assist. Winter-semester deadlines are usually 15 July; summer-semester deadlines are 15 January.

Step 3: Blocked account & visa

Open a blocked account with the required annual amount, get health insurance and book your visa appointment early.
